4 Exercises for the Perfect Body

If you’re tired of playing equipment roulette in the gym and want to strip your workout routine to the bare bones, these exercises are for you. With these 4 simple workouts, you can start getting the athletic body you’ve always wanted.

1. Squats

This all-purpose exercise is the king of the lower body. Squats work the quads, butt, hamstrings, calves, and abs. Make sure you keep your knees positioned over your toes to keep from harming your knees. To get the full benefit of squats, get low enough that your upper legs are parallel to the floor.

2. Bench Press

Bench pressing is the squats, in other words king, of upper body exercises. Bench pressing will work the chest, shoulders, triceps, and the abs a bit.  

3. Pull Ups

Pull ups work the back, biceps, shoulders, and the core. They help widen the back, which will make the waist look smaller.

4. Cleans

Cleans are an entire body workout. They work your quads, calves, hamstrings, glutes, deltoids, traps, and forearms, while your core stabilizes your spine.


Of course, as is the case with all workouts, make sure you do your research beforehand and be careful. Don’t be afraid to ask questions at your gym and if you’re not sure something is right for you, ask your doctor. You only have one body, so take care of yourself.
